Hey guys….
I made a thing.
TADAAAA!!!

The Grevillea top follows my usual sewing rules.
- Buy way too little fabric.
- Make a thing without any pattern and with minimal professionalism and Really Hope it Works.
- Make sure it is Reversible.
In this case, I think the lack of fabric was actually not my fault but was due to the online seller only having half a metre left. (I actually bought quite a lot of different Aussie Floral Batik prints, but haven’t finished any project with them except for this so far).
Because of the lack of fabric, the top is really less of a shirt and more of a ‘box with a slit down the centre, some squares on the side, some darts, and a little bit of fabric at the back to tie it all together’.
Here’s the front view:

And here’s the back:

(Obviously I need to work on my ‘taking photos of my back’ thing..)
As you can maybe see, the back doesn’t sit perfectly flat.
Which is mostly because of point 3.
Make. It. Reversible.

Yes Jocelyn, I know. It’s a lot of boob.
And frankly, if it were less boob, it would make it much easier to create things that are reversible in a cleaner way.
This fabric has zero stretch, so the front is aggressively darted, and the back also has some shaping applied (although less because there’s obviously a bit more freedom at the front).
Here’s the back view:

And here’s it all over again, front to back and back to front:

That’s all folks.
Although wait.
Final manic shot:
Finally finished in July or August, 2026
