Topkapi Palace
I have to be honest, I think that by the time we got to Topkapi Palace we were a bit tourist-ed out.

On our second day in Istanbul, the family and I skipped off to the Istanbul Modern.
While Andy was enamored by the Blue Mosque, I was even more impressed by the crumbling, eastern-gothic beauty of the Hagia Sophia, which was our next port of call.
Ater wandering from our excessively beautiful hotel, across the Galata bridge and into the old town, and after hitting up the Basilica Cistern, we decided to see the rather stunningly decorated Blue Mosque.
It’s Autumn, which means that, just like last year, it’s time to bring on the gourds! We managed to acquire a couple of Pumpkins from work- (don’t worry, they’re not terrifying Genetically Modified Organisms, and nobody’s been doing experiments on them). I took to work, making my first ever Jack-O-Lantern, admittedly a bit early for the Halloween Season.
Last weekend we headed to Istanbul, which meant a weekend with great food, sights, colours… and this song stuck in our heads every. single. second. of every. single. day.
My family came to visit last week, and although I had to work Monday and Tuesday, I managed to sneak out early on Wednesday to frolick around the park.
I am pleased to announce the happy frolicking of many many family members in the great city of Berlin. And apparently also that Andy is now Merkel 2.0.
Last weekend, Tess- a friend of Andy’s from South America- was in town, and we took the opportunity to visit the Jewish Museum.
I’ve finally found a Berlin flea market to fill the hole in my hoarder’s heart.
