At the end of 2015…

So, it’s the end of the year as we know it, which is absolutely terrifying to me. We’ve spent the last year running around like crazy, getting our science on, moving house (and city, kind of), moving job and generally practicing being grownups (ok, not trying so hard- but some of us turned OLD 30 this year).

Halloween O-fifteen

So, I know that Halloween is well and truly over.

I know that some among us are well on their way to embracing Thanksgiving, that some more of us are getting slightly nervous about the rapidly approaching Christmas season, and that almost all of us are feeling particularly concerned about the fact that another year has whizzed on by.

I guess anyone who knows me won’t be too surprised to see that one of my first Polish posts is about Pączki.

These delicious, sweet, perfectly-fried-fluffed-and-filled delicacies, pronounced more like ‘pOnchki’ than ‘pac-see’, are Poland’s version of a jam-filled doughnut (or Berliner).

But let me tell you friends, the word doughnut just doesn’t cover it.

When the Rowes were in Town

There are many great things about life in Australia, and being Australian.

You get to lie to inform people about drop bears. You get to surprise your foreign friends with Vegemite (and now, even Vegemite chocolate). You rarely have to cancel holidays because of rain.
