A quick check in
Hi everyone!
Hi everyone!
Last Sunday we headed to the Kunstgewerbemuseum, or ‘Museum of the Decorative Arts’.
Growing up, I think I had it kinda lucky friend-wise. I have the feeling that most nerdy people don’t find their clique until they’re in Uni, but I made it through school (and even enjoyed the experience) with a fairly awesome group of people. I’m pretty sure that Ashlee orchestrated the whole thing.
Today felt like a ridiculously long day. Mostly because our group meeting ran for three hours… which turns out to be at least two times longer than the ‘sitting still’ capacity of most experimental scientists. Luckily, ‘being an adult’ means getting to reward yourself for hard work, in your own chosen way.
Happy New Year Friends! I thought that this year I’d share my four general aims for 2016, as they pretty much manage to cover the myriad of smaller intentions I have for improvement this year. Because it turns out that the start of the year is quite a convenient time to think about change. So here we go: make, think, join, give.
So, it’s the end of the year as we know it, which is absolutely terrifying to me. We’ve spent the last year running around like crazy, getting our science on, moving house (and city, kind of), moving job and generally practicing being grownups (ok, not trying so hard- but some of us turned OLD 30 this year). Here’s a quick run-down of what we’ve been up to in the last year or so.
This year’s Christmas tree was a bit of a rush compared to the ‘homemade pastels’ of last year, the ‘grey and red knit‘, or even the ‘guesthouse miniature’ of our very first family Northern Hemisphere Christmas. And so, ok, I went back to my default setting of ‘RED!’
This year, I became obsessed with the idea of making things for Christmas. You’ve seen the traditional cookies, but it extended beyond that.
Today is Andy’s Birthday, so it seems fitting to let him regale you of another tale of Poland. We were fortunate to enjoy one of the last really great sunny weekends of the year during our visit to Warsaw.
Hi there, and thanks for stopping by the new and improved moved Fishwithwhiskey.
